KDE on Android: the future is near

Thanks to Requirement it will be possible to execute Qt apps on Android. Yes, the kid's dream come true.

A few days ago the alpha version 3 of this interesting project.

The development team of Requirement, lead by Bogdan vatra, is responsible for the project. They have created a development suite Qt for mobile devices that use Android.

Simply put, by Requirement it will be possible to use and create applications Qt (KDE) on the devices Android.

For a few days alpha version 3 of this SDK is now available.

Here are the new changes and improvements that this update brings:

  • OpenGL support
  • QAtomic implementation
  • Android Assets
  • QDesktopServices
  • SSL support
  • QtWebKit 2.1 with JIT support, which is 2.5x faster than the previous version
  • QtCreator 2.2
  • A sample or preview of QtMobility
  • GDB 7.2 with Python support
  • Fixes for most bugs

It is available to download for both Linux and Windows.
