Kubernetes 1.14 available from Canonical

Kubernetes logo and Ubuntu

Kubernetes 1.14 now it is available from Canonical, the new version that comes loaded with great news (compatibility and integration improvements, support for Windows nodes, improvements for kubectl, improvements in kubeadm,…). I think it is not necessary to introduce the Canonical company, as it is known to all of us, especially the Ubuntu distro, among other projects, and there is not much to comment on the important Kubernetes project either. Well, now these two great names come together to enter the business sector and offer customers comprehensive solutions.

Canonical has announced full enterprise support for Kubernetes 1.14 and the use of Kubeadm, Charmed Kubernetes and MicroK8s implementations, etc. You already know that MicroK8s provides Kubernetes on any Linux desktop, server or virtual machine, with more than 40 supported distributions, and also MacOS and Windows with multipass. On the other hand, Charmed Kubernetes users can easily upgrade to Kubernetes 1.14, totally independent of the hardware they use or the virtual machine.

You will also know that kubeadm is an important tool that allows us to deploy a cluster with Kubernetes in a very simple way, being able to create it both in physical and virtual machines. Thus, in a very easy way you will have this software running to automatically deploy, scale and manage application containers in demand in new business environments and cloud computing.

With this new move from Canonical, it gets a little stronger in business sectors to fight with the two biggest in this sector: Red Hat and SuSE; This ensures that all implementations and developers working with containers on Ubuntu GNU / Linux distributions can benefit from the latest Kubernetes features as soon as they are available. So good news for everyone who is using these types of systems.
