Kubuntu 19.04 arrives with KDE Plasma 5.15 and experimental Wayland

The official "taste" Kubuntu 19.04 has been released as part of the Ubuntu 19.04 Disco Dingo series with several updated components and many improvements.

Coming with the same changes from Ubuntu 19.04 Disco Dingo, the Kubuntu 19.04 operating system is here to offer users the latest in the KDE experience powered by the KDE Plasma 5.15.4 graphical environment and KDE Applications 18.12.3 software suite, all under the skeleton of Qt 5.12.2.

Of course, Kubuntu 19.04 has several updates to its default software, including the Mozilla Firefox 66.0 browser and LibreOffice 6.2.2 office suite. The latest Latte Dock 0.8.8, KDevelop 5.3.2 and Krita 4.1.7 are also available.

Also new in Kubuntu 19.04 is the implementation of a configuration interface for the KDE Plasma environment to allow users to configure the drivers for their Wacom tablets, as well as an experimental session of Wayland that can be activated by installing the package. plasma-workspace-wayland.

Under the hood, Kubuntu 19.04 is powered by the series Linux Kernel 5.0, just like Ubuntu 19.04 Disco Dingo and the rest of the official "flavors".

You can download Kubuntu 19.04 right now at Official Site if you want to install it on your personal computer. If you have Kubuntu 18.10 remember that you can update using the update tool.

Kubuntu 19.04 will have support for nine months, until January 2020, and is only supported for systems with 64-bit architecture.
