LDD: Puppy Linux 5.3.3 available

In a new installment of «The Twilight Zone (LDD): There is Linux beyond Ubuntu«, We share a new screencast, this time about the recently out of the oven Puppy Linux 5.3.3 Slacko.

Ladies / Gentlemen: I present to you Puppy Linux!

In general, the official versions of Puppy Linux and pupplets (distributions derived from Puppy) stand out for their speed of execution, stability, hardware detection, and the number of useful programs in a small space. It's the perfect distro for discontinued computers and can even breathe new life into an old 486.

The minimum requirements are very low: 128 megabytes of RAM, 512 megabytes of hard disk and 500MHz of processor. Puppy can be conveniently installed on hard drives or pen drives. It also contains a utility called "WakePup" consisting of a floppy image that boots and looks for where Puppy is installed (if you have a computer that does not boot via USB or CD-ROM, this may be the solution).

But, less talk and more action:

It takes us time to make the videos and upload them, we only ask you for a few seconds of your time to leave us your opinion about this section of the blog in which we present not so well known distributions. Do you like it, do you think it is useful, should we make more videos?

Great, explained in detail, not too long, not too short, since I already knew Puppy Linux, but only now I was convinced to Download to take it on my Pendrive ..
The video is perfect, since explaining everything in text would be very long, and there is no comparison as I already told you with your well-detailed video, which was what convinced me.

Very interesting Pablo, I've known her for a long time but she never allowed herself to be installed for one reason or another on old machines, it seems that now this has improved.
As for the video, it is long, I think that showing only the news and a background music would help.
    😀

It's okay to make videos - I only recommend preparing them to avoid that feeling of doubt (fillers and things like that), use a livelier tone of voice and make them shorter.
Ahead! - Puppy has always seemed very funny to me - I don't know a single volunteer user of that distro, but the post is interesting.

I have a pc a bit old and wanted to install the puppy. The video was very helpful to know its characteristics and decide. I'm going to prove it. Thank you!

Excellent video - very valuable information - what I like is that it shows the distro in operation.

    A deserved 10/10

Thank you very much = D

Excellent distro, I also used it once as a 'lifesaver' to repair my pc. Thanks for the video.

    OKAY. Thanks for the comments.
In case of not making videos, how could we do it? An article?
What info. concise should I have an article featuring little known distros?
Name, "It is based on ...", Minimum requirements, package system, desktop environments that come by default ... what else?
    Hug! Paul.

Well, in that aspect it doesn't give me any problem. I have saved a lot of Windows data with Puppy.

Thanks for commenting on the distro, but the videos themselves seem to me to be over. They become very long to watch, and within three minutes I was bored, regardless of whether or not I decide to try the program

I tried it and it did not allow me to modify data in ntfs partitions, instead with Bodhi Linux I was able to do those tasks and without problems.

    Excellent, the best section.
    Thank you

I was a user of this distro for a year, the great disadvantage that it has or had is that it is single user I don't know how it will be now, but for "obsolete" equipment it works very well and without sacrificing usability.

    Cheers :

I wanted to know what is the best stable version of Puppy Linux for a Pentium IV of 1 GB of Ram ?, but that the machine can use:

1.- As a terminal connected to a Lan Network with Samba and that can communicate with other pcs of different operating systems. That it comes with the necessary installation of Samba to make the connection to the Lan Network Working Group.
2.- That it can automatically mount all the USB devices that you connect to it.
3.- To automatically configure the WIFI connection to connect with the Router.

    Thanks for the information.

HELLO, what is the main task for which puppy linux was created, or what is the specific objective of the creation of this operating system.
