LibreOffice 7.6 Beta 1: Now available and these are its news!
En DesdeLinux we almost never miss the news related to LibreOffice, the free, free and open Office Suite, most preferred and used in the Linux environment. Therefore, whether there has been a launch of a stable, maintenance or test version, we are always on the lookout to offer you the news of said information.
For this reason, and given that today, June 14th, 2023, we have learned of the launch of «LibreOffice 7.6 Beta 1», which is the second development version released, since the development of version 7.6 began in mid-December 2022, as we will address its news.

After the exploration of the official announcement known in the Technological Blog (Blog Quality Assurance / QA) from LibreOffice Developers, the release plan or roadmap for version 7.6 and Release notes Of this new test version, 10 new features of the many that exist within this release are the following:
- Bibliography entries can now be edited directly from a bibliography table.
- DOCX paragraph marker character properties are now also remembered in ODT.
- The Accessibility Check has been moved to the sidebar to allow for easier use when editing.
- If an attempt is made to remove a hidden section in a Writer document, a warning message will now be displayed.
- Added highlighting for used character and paragraph styles, and highlighting for direct formatting used on text.
- The table of figures can now be more flexibly generated based on a paragraph style, not just by categories or object names.
- Regarding the handling of quotes added in Writer, useful for creating a blog post, features have been added with functionality similar to Zotero.
- Added a page number wizard in the Insert menu to easily insert the page number in the header/footer in one step.
- As for spell checking, there is now phrase checking, accordingly, Hunspell multi-word dictionary items and custom dictionaries are accepted.
- The Paragraph Style dropdown menu (on the Formatting toolbar) now gradually replaces the default list with the styles used in the document instead of always displaying the full list at the top.
