Is it because Anyone will use it? 😀 Jokes aside, Clem just announced in the Linux Mint blog, that the next version of this distribution (corresponding to Ubuntu 12.10) will have as code name: Nadia.
You can see the reason for the name on the blog (hope in Russian, delicate, tender in Arabic), and as usual, this version will have its variants in Cinnamon, MATE, KDE y Xfce. So You know, Linux Mint Nadia in the next few months 😀
flame war in sight…
With Mint I don't think ... if it were SolusOS, xDDDD
What a fiasco, I wanted flames. ¬¬
SolusOS sucks. Ok, ready, put it together.
Stop a little bit, you want bard? Debian and Vim suck !! (!?)
(I'd better go than there I see him coming to elav with the knife between his teeth ...)
Stop, such hosts that are getting into. Where are the moderators?
(We do not bard even if they throw liquid propellant)
HAHAHA!!!
okay…..
What a good flavor Mint, although the distro that I have been looking forward to -and I suspect several more- for a long time is Elementary OS Luna 🙂
Hehe I'm also waiting for that distro.
It seems that the developers will surprise many with the development of GALA that has improved impressively with expose, integration with plank, windows switch and desktop view, they have also developed several new apps that they have planned to launch on Luna + 1 and pantheon is quite stable, I think that by October we may see Elementary Luna launched with a lot of new stuff.
Anyway, for now it will be wait, test and report bugs! hehe 🙂
The only problem I see with ElementaryOS is that if they are going to be guided by the Ubuntu release, they will never be able to move forward.
There are very few developers, implementing many improvements and new applications, for such a short time between releases. In this type of case, I think it is best to do something like Debian, have a stable version and then create a Testing version.
In fact, they will only make new versions with each LTS, I mean, every 2 years. ElementaryOS is supposed to be ALWAYS LTS.
Hmm, how difficult to update then, if they are only LTS it will be a shame to live with prehistoric kernels and applications for mundane desktop tasks ...
I thought you were reading a MuyLinux article.
By? ¬¬
I look forward to this distro
–The only problem I see with ElementaryOS is that if they are going to be guided by the Ubuntu launch, -
Here I do not think it is so much a problem that they are based on the LTS, they would have 5 years to work on the improvements.
Hahaha I liked the joke of the name.
Ah, the KDE version too? taking into account that it is a community version and that it was released long after the official version ...
Without the intention of offending anyone ... I have never liked derived distros (which does not mean that they do not have their benefits for X users), and much less those derived from others that in turn are from another distribution ... value redundancy.
Great but it would be a great gesture to explain why? you do not like?.
As I said ... I do not like them, but that does not mean that they do not play an important role for this or that user and / or that they are the preferred distros for X sector, I just do not like them and I have expressed it ... I prefer to focus on independent distros ... I repeat, they fulfill their role and that's fine, but they are not for me and believe me that I have already tried several (for educational purposes), for example now I write from Ubuntu 12.04 and it has improved a lot so I plan to install it on my wife's computer.
Likes are tastes and this is GNU / Linux.
A cordial greeting to you.
Pardon the redundancy.
Well, I'm already looking forward to the Chinese distro Linux Deepin 12 is excellent!
I will always look forward to the KDE version, but the truth is I do not plan to update so then maybe you have linux mint 15 update at the moment I am fine with linux mint 13 KDE. Maya
I am a Windows user, but I have installed several linux distros and I always end up going back to windows. I don't know what happens but I always find many difficulties with linux although I have managed to configure more or less what I need. I'm installing the Mint 13 right now, I trust I can use it well, I just want to mess around with video and sound programs and write My Writings for my blog.
God keep blessing you and giving light so that these projects are useful to normal users like me and many others.

I don't know what your previous experience has been but with distros like Linux Mint usability is assured for non-technical users, in fact it aims to be a usable and stable distro for mass consumption for people without computer skills.
Without pretending to say that the case of Joseferchozamper is like the ones I will describe, there is the great habit left by the Windows way of doing things. Really easy distributions like Linux Mint for some people are a somewhat painful learning curve, for the simple fact of NOT being Windows, which sometimes also happens between versions of the same system.
Another problem is that simply by not understanding basic things about GNU / Linux they want it to behave the same as Windows and (for example) have the same programs that they used before: They get into the fight with wine to install messenger, nero, office, etc, they break something and things get complicated. Or else, they go directly from root because in windows you are the default administrator (almost nobody takes the trouble to create an account without elevated permissions, so there is no custom) and bye machine.
Thank you very much for the comment, we hope to continue reading here 🙂
