LXQt 0.15.0 is already here presented various improvements and important changes

After more than a year of development LXQt 0.15.0 desktop environment release took place, developed by the LXDE project. The LXQt c interfaceoncontinues to follow the ideas of a classic desk organization, providing a modern appearance to improve usability.

What's new in LXQt 0.15.0?

In this new version the editing the PCManFM-Qt file manager and the underlying LibFM-Qt library, in which have added an option to support single window operation (no dialog boxes in separate windows).

In the image viewer LXImage-Qt, a dialog has been added to the file menu to work with files to open a file in an external application, added the ability to configure hotkeys and the size of the recently opened file list and an image outline display mode was also added.

Of the other changes that occur in this new version they are:

  • Extended menu to search for information.
  • Proper panel positioning is provided in multi-monitor setups.
  • An option has been added to the task manager to move windows to the next or previous virtual desktop using the mouse wheel.
  • The libQtXdg library sharpened the display of icons in SVG format when zoomed in.
  • Improved work with file extensions in the file dialog.
  • Keyboard navigation was improved.

Finally se expect the compilations for Ubuntu (LXQt is offered by default on Lubuntu), Arch Linux, Fedora, openSUSE, Mageia, FreeBSD, ROSA and ALT Linux, are ready in a matter of hours or in a few days (depending on the distribution).
