Mari0: Going back to the past, but on steroids

I was bored on the weekend and I started looking for games in the repositories of Archlinux to entertain me when this little gem appeared: Mari0.

Mari01

If he Mari0 of a lifetime, with the same music, same levels and characters, but with some extra add-ons, which I don't remember ever seeing before.

Mari0

For example, now Mario carries a teleportation weapon in his hands, or rather, a weapon that allows us to open a Portal, through which the bad guys can also access. In other words, with the left click you launch THE ENTRY and with the right click THE EXIT.

The weapon is very interesting, because it allows us to skip the holes or the bad ones easily. Of course, we must not forget to close the portal by pressing the R key.

The only bad thing about this is that the weapon is used by default with the Mouse, and sometimes if we move it the character walks backwards 😀

The game is very customizable. You can change the appearance of Mari0, as well as the keyboard shortcuts. If you want to try and remember times of old:

$ sudo pacman -S mari0

Enjoy!

Mari02

    In other distros, you must install the LÖVE package and download the game from its official website: http://stabyourself.net/mari0/

    That version of Mario is a crossover between Super Mario Bros. with Portal (a Valve game).

    And by the way, it's absolutely cool.

    But the classic Mario was exclusive, that's why I never liked that game

      all the important games have been exclusive…, with rare exceptions.

    Hi, install the game on my Kubuntu 13.10 and everything is fine, it's like the original Mario from the SNES. I have only found 1 problem: that the game is not controlled with the directional arrows but with the A and D keys. How can I change this?
