My experience with Motorola Moto G and Android 4.4.2 (+ screenshots)

I recently bought a Motorola Moto G with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, a mid-range mobile with the following characteristics:

  • 4.5 screen with 720 x 1280 pixel resolution
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset
  • 7 GHz Cortex-A1.2 quad-core processor
  • Adreno GPU 305
  • 1GB of RAM
  • Internal storage 8 / 16GB
  • 5MP camera
  • GPS and GLONASS support
  • Interchangeable back cover but no possibility of removing the battery
  • microSIM
  • 2070 mAh battery
  • 129.9 x 65.9 x 11.6 mm
  • 143 grams

But Telcel was taking a long time to release 4.4.2, ¬_¬ so ... Flash with USA ROM! xD

It is a very good terminal, it is low cost, and very fast….

Android 4.4.2

The terminal includes the possibility of transferring your data from your previous device thanks to Motorola Migrate. By default (As always) it comes with Chrome but we can install Firefox, and we can install Firefox OS apps !!! 😀

Not that it is annoying but I think they should solve these bugs:

Bugs, bugssssss ...

Bugs, bugssssss ...

It is a pure Android, but with some additions (Small) from Motorola.

The camera is not that good, but save ...

Google Now is an excellent service, I love its voice search and its weather report card 😀

Personally, it is already very nice, but customizing a little it looks great!

The games are very fluid and I dare say that this terminal is better than my computer, it runs a wide variety of games, or at least the ones I have tried: Minecraft, Terraria, Pou, TKA, Fruit Ninja, Jetpack Joyride, the PSX emulator, etc ...

(PS: The Pou down here is mine but I don't play it, there are times when I lend my mobile… xD)

Well, nothing, if you think about buying a cheap and good terminal, I recommend this one. Oh, and for those interested, it has Rooting !!! (I'm afraid of giving Superuser permissions to xD apps). PS: If anyone is encouraged, please port Firefox OS to this mobile (I would do it, but my team is not to compile ¬_¬).

Happy beggining of the week to all! 😀

I also just bought it, just 15 days ago, and I am also delighted. I come from a Galaxy Ace so I have noticed the improvement a lot. I have compared it to a Nexus4 and in speed and response I don't notice much difference.
Without a doubt, a great terminal for those of us who do not need more. Maybe it seems a bit flimsy on the back cover, but it would be solved with a cover or similar….

      Hello jeramaelmc!
Yes, I had that problem in fedora, but in Ubuntu it works perfect ...
I'm sorry I can't give you a solution for your distro, but I'm still trying ...

According to me, Manjaro has (almost) the same packages as Arch, so you would have to run this:

      pacman -S libmtp mtpfs gvfs gvfs-afc gvfs-mtp

with this, I made ArchLinux recognize my Xperia S automatically

I also have the Moto G with Telcel, which KitKat released, at least on my team, the first days of January. Good terminal, right now I make this comment from it.

Hello! I have Moto G with kitkat 4.4.2 from Claro Argentina. I can't make screenshot, not even as indicated with turn off + volume down simultaneously. Any solution?

    1.    leander amodeo said

Very nice note. Excellent phone, I have it for 3 days and it is sooo good, I am a client of clear Arg. It already came with Android 4.4.2 Rodrigo, the screenshot is with both buttons at the same time. You must press the button on / off / lock +. The volume button - for 3 seconds and voila, save the screen. Contact me at leandroamodeo@gmail.com. Cheers
