New NVIDIA OpenGL 4.0 Driver for Linux

The OpenGL 4.0 specification was released in mid-March at the same time as the OpenGL 3.3 update. NVIDIA was not able to immediately provide support for OpenGL 4.0, as there were no cards at the time that were compatible with the new specification. Now that the GeForce GTX 470/480 cards saw the light and that there is new hardware compatible with DirectX 11.0 / OpenGL 4.0, NVIDIA has already posted the new OpenGL 4.0 drivers for Linux and Windows on its website.

The new driver is 195.36.07.04 and provides full support for OpenGL 4.0 with GLSL 4.00 (GL Shading Language 4) and for hardware that is not compatible with GL4, it includes OpenGL 3.3 with GLSL 3.30. You can download the new driver from NVIDIA page.

    Hello! Look, apparently Linux does not support 32 bits like Windows. The point is that, in reality, the 32 bit color density of Windows is not such: it is 24 bit + 8bit to regulate the transparencies. In other words, there is practically no difference between 24bit on Linux and 32bit on Windows.
