New version of Loculinux, the linux for cyber cafes

Finally Loculinux version 1.1 arrived with all the fixes corrected from the previous one. 2 versions have been created, Client and Server, to use LocuLinux in the workstations, you have to install the client in each one of them and in the computer that will control them, the server.

The system that has been implemented for the control of positions is the most advanced that I have seen so far, it allows hourly pricing, by prepayment, by hours, with user, etc. It allows to Close the session of the station, Restart it or Shut down the station, directly from the control center of the LocuLinux server.

Due to stability problems, the version has been changed from 9.10 to 9.04 with all the packages updated.

What is Loculinux?

It is a Linux distribution based on Ubuntu 9.04 that has been developed to cover a little exploited market for Linux, which are call shops or also known as cybercafés.

The current problem of this type of establishment is that due to the initial investment in the purchase of computers, the license of the software to be installed must be added, that is, what is installed has to be totally legal since it is a service that is offered to the general public.

The cost of licensing the most widely used operating systems increases the cost of purchasing computers and causes this type of software to be installed illegally.

That is where LOCULINUX comes in, as it is a Linux distribution, it has no cost in the license per computer or per total number of users, since it is based on the GNU license which, in short, tells us that we can freely distribute the software or even modify it at our discretion.

LOCULINUX has all the necessary applications to be installed in this type of establishment, from Office Programs (Word Processor, Spreadsheets, Presentations), Instant Messaging, etc.

This is the first version of LOCULINUX, its installation is very simple, it can be executed directly from a LIVE DVD or installed on the hard disk of the computer.

It has two execution environments for programs developed on the Win Os platform, Wine and PlayOnLinux, the latter allows us to run most commercial games or demos of these directly from our LOCULINUX.
