New version of SolusOS 1.2 "LEGACY"

A new version of the trendy SolusOS distro has just come out. Personally I could never use it since when booting the system I got a black screen and apparently it was solved in this maintenance version by installing an older kernel fixing the following:

  •  NForce hardware users, nvida onboard graphics card (MCP61 boots with black screen)
  •  Forcedeth users (nforce nVidia network chip)
  • Certain 10MBit LAN chips, and various bluetooth and broadcom chips

In addition, a bug that some users had with the resolution in plymouth was fixed.

Software included:

  • Firefox 15.0
  • Thunderbird 15.0
  • LibreOffice 3.6.0
  • Linux Kernel 3.0.0-ck1-solusos (with BFS / preempt / no dyn ticks / 1000Hz)
  • iptable 1.4.8
  • ugh 0.31.1
  • hplip 3.12
  • VLC 2.0.1
  • pidgin 2.10
  • GNOME 2.30

And new applications in the repository SolusOS

I think I will release the Live version, and then… the virtual machine.

The truth is that I was also curious about this distro ... I'll try it in the virtual box 😀

It is a very good distro, it deserves to be tested, it is very likely that after trying it you will want to install it.
    Greetings!

I installed it on my laptop about 3 days ago to test it, and although to make the Broadcom wifi work I had to use b43-fwcutter with a driver downloaded manually (from this blog), and that the proprietary Nvidia driver does not catch me correct resolution, otherwise, it is an excellent distribution that has allowed me, at least for the moment, to return to those times when I enjoyed a very configurable GNOME 2 😀

Try it ... I have it installed but the previous version and the truth is that since I left Ubuntu ... it is the most practical I found ... thanks for not putting unity in this distro ....

I'm going to test it over the weekend to see if it solves the problem with nvidia. How much is SolusOS consuming in default?

I know it is not a very reliable data but in VB it consumes me initially 135mb.

    Hi all:
I tell you that I am using version 1.2 (Eveline) with Kernel 3.3.6 64 Bit, and to tell the truth, it is going very well, very stable, it has not given me the slightest problem, since I installed it to date. I have an AMD-Radeon GPU, which with Gnome shell has given me many problems in terms of graphics, curiously with Gnome 2 it works much better.

    I recommend it, greetings XD
