NumixBLUE: theme for GTK and Openbox

I think many know the subject Numix, in fact there is already a blog post » https://blog.desdelinux.net/numix-bonito-tema-para-acompanarte/

Well I love it, but I prefer blue colors when it comes to desktop themes. So I started modifying the theme (which is quite simple), I changed the color and some other little things like making the text look "smoother" in GTK3 applications.

NumixBLUE1

NumixBLUE2

Of course, there is only topic for open box y GTK + 2 y 3 which is what I use, the rest (Metacity, Unity, Xfwm) I did not change because I had no way to test it and I am very stupid to install extra environments.

I have a theme for SLiM which is doing very well »https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/slim-theme-minimal-arch/

Download NumixBLUE

You know, it installs in the traditional way. If you don't know how to read the README that comes inside the tarball.

It's easier to customize the GTK theme with gtk-theme-config. It is a small application that allows you to customize the colors of any GTK + 2 and GTK + 3 theme. It also belongs to the same author of the Numix theme. Elegance colors along with Numix are an excellent recommendation.

Yes, the bad thing is that gtk-theme-config and LXAppearance interfere with each other (they both use the ~ / .gtkrc-2.0 file and overwrite it). It is a good tool in Xfce and GNOME.

Numix (and its variants) is one of the best GTK and icon themes out there (if not the best), I wish they had a variant for KDE

It looks good, you have to vote your theme in AUR if you like it and use Arch

  7.   Angel_Le_Blanc said

I already voted it in AUR, it's good, but to use it I have to change several things to match

We are two with Blue !, officially my new favorite theme, I was already using Numix, but I'm not one to modify GTk themes because I have no idea about that, thanks for sharing!

Note that it is not that difficult, the only thing I touched were the tones and a small tweak for the toolbar.

Very good the subject; a question: how do I change the blue color for another?

    1.    cookie said

It depends, what environment are you in?

      1.    gonza_212 said

In Razor-Qt with Openbox as window manager

        1.    cookie said

OKAY. Enter the folder openbox-3 which is inside the theme. There is a file themerc, edit it and change all # 00a7fc by the color tone you want.

Nice mod, although I personally love Numix's red, which is unique — or at least not that worn.
