PDF Arranger 1.2.0 is the new version of this graphical tool to manipulate files in PDF format. It is compatible with Linux and includes some improvements in this latest release, such as keyboard shortcuts, metadata export, fixed bugs and more. For those of you who are not familiar with PDF Arranger yet, it is a free and open source tool that is a fork of the PDF-Shuffler software. This software has not been updated since April 2012 and PDF Arranger comes to resurrect the code of said abandoned project.

PDF Arranger is based on Python 3 and the GTK3 graphics library for its creation, and currently has taken another step forward in development with v1.2.0 as we are commenting. If you want to install this tool on your distro, it is available in some of the most important repositories of the most popular distros. You can also download the source code and compile it from the project's GitHub website, where there will also be binaries for Windows.

As for the what's new in PDF Arranger 1.2.0:

  • Keyboard shortcuts have been added +/- to zoom, c to open the dialog box, Ctrl + Left / Right to rotate 90 or -90 degrees.
  • Also, the program will remember the window size or maximization status and the zoom level for the next time you open the window.
  • Thumbnails are aligned to the left and above and thus make the margin and space uniform.
  • The dialog has been redesigned and the experience has been improved in this regard.
  • Rendering of thumbnails when zooming, that is, of the thumbnails. This should now correct for blurring when zoomed.
  • Support for more PDF files
  • Original metadata is kept for export
  • Translations have been improved, specifically for the German language.
  • Some bugs present in previous versions have also been fixed.
