Very good interface, but it doesn't load almost any movies and the worst thing is that it plays as slow in full screen mhh! it's still green.

Can it only be run as superuser (ie, with "sudo")?

  3.   Miguel said

The .run does not run on Ubuntu 12.04 x64
It gives me the following error: «./popcorn-app.run: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libudev.so.1: no version information available (required by ./popcorn-app.run)
    ./popcorn-app.run: symbol lookup error: ./popcorn-app.run: undefined symbol: g_type_class_adjust_private_offset »

I had the same problem and I solved it with this workaround: https://github.com/popcorn-time/popcorn-app/issues/192

I prefer downloading and sharing to streaming, plus it doesn't have subtitles.

    1.    mukelemembe said

LOL are you silly or what? Of course it is shared, it continues to be seeding and of course it has the option of subtitles, it gives you to select once you are watching the film to choose between 8 more languages, including Spanish .. neofito

The same with my more than 20 megabytes, the reproduction never started, except in a movie, and the program does not run as smoothly as it should in the reproduction, it shows that it is beta. Stop insulting people, goat.

But don't insult fellow mukelemembe he doesn't know what he's saying.

Off topic: Has anyone already seen the offline apps offered by Google's Chrome Web Store?
    I just found out.

In the beta of ubuntu 14.04 it works the first time.

  8.   medina07 said

In Windows I do not know how it works, but I have tried it on my wife's computer that has Ubuntu 12.04 LTS installed and it works properly while on my computer that has OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 installed it does not work, it does not even start, (I imagine that It is only compatible with older versions of the Apple system).

From Ubuntu if I could see a movie and in very good quality ... it should be noted that without a good connection it is not worth using it.

If you download it with safari it does not work, download it with chrome and there it is solved, I tell you because the same thing happened to me and now I have it working 😀

    only 64bits = /

  10.   Marcelo said

still does not lift the subtitles.
on ubuntu 12.04 it doesn't work.
on ubuntu 13.10 64 bit it works.
the movies are all in hd, so it cuts out unless you have a very good connection.

  17.   pepper said

It is good, but my 2 mega connection does not accompany and the image is seen in jumps, it must be because the movies are in HD. Also missing more subtitles in Spanish.

In any case, P2P is supposed to be the future in movies.

They already deleted the Mega installer. There are rumors of lawsuits, etc. Hopefully they can hold out.

How are they? Since January 1, I adopted Xubuntu 12.04 (x86_64) as the only OS and this page has served as a reference for my learning, I have installed some things that they publish here and everything is fine, with Popcorn something happened that I still don't understand, since I don't It worked but it stayed that way and I didn't worry until the next day I found this when I turned on the device, when loading the system it stayed in:
mountall: error while loading shared libraries: libadev.so.0 and did not go from there,
I tried several options to fix it and nothing, did something like this happen to someone?
I appreciate in advance any kind of help.
    regards

People just to warn, I think this project has already died, it's a shame, I really thought it was very interesting.

  23.   abdhesuk said

Well, it seems that on the official page they have decided to abandon the project. So some links are down. It seems to me that he has died too soon with the potential he had. Maybe someone can take over the project.

Hello community DesdeLinux I have found an alternative way to installing popcorn time on Ubuntu (by the way, I already updated to 13.10) and for ArchLinux on the WebUp8 page http://goo.gl/BDCEVT It is a little simpler than what the lolbimbo colleague posted to us, but he is still thanked for his contribution to him. I hope it serves them like me.
