Prince of Persia source code released

The source code of the Prince of Persia, or better known in these parts, the Prince of Persia after having lost the sources for little more than 20 years, was released by its author in Github.

After the notorious discovery of the source code of the original Prince of Persia for the Apple II a few weeks ago, Jordan Mechner, its creator, took on the task of extracting the data and transferring it to a modern system, using for this a special personalized device, created specifically for the singular task. After all, the information was on 3.5 floppy disks.

After the delicate process, the code could finally be released for free on the development platform, GitHub, this so that everyone has access to the historical material and can even experiment with it.

“We extracted and published the 6502 code because it was a piece of computing history that might be of interest to others, and because had it not been done, it could have been lost forever. Now is the time for me to go back to my normal job of making games and stories. "

It should be remembered that the source code remained lost for decades and was considered lost until by chance, Jordan's father found these and other old codes in a box while cleaning. An alternate version of Tetris developed for fun was also rescued and endorsed.
