Among the most notable novelties of «Rhino Linux 2023.4», which we can see among the many implemented by its developers, in their Official website and more specifically about the Change Logs section, we can mention the following 5:

  1. The Unicorn Desktop Environment Now provides auto tiling option by default. Therefore, if the previous version is updated to the new one, when reboot, users will be able to see a new applet in the top right section of the panel whose objective is to launch the said feature i.e. enable/disable the tile mode. In addition, it now also brings by default the application launcher called uLauncher, but with a more rounded shape and a slightly different background color.
  2. Package manager (Rhino Package) no longer automatically removes packages by default when using the rhino-pkg update command, if Nala is installed. While, to clean unnecessary packages or broken dependencies on the system, users will now be able to run the new rhino-pkg cleanup command command.
  3. Includes version 4.3.0 of Pacstall software (Package manager for Ubuntu inspired by AUR / Arch User Repository of Arch Linux), which now allows packages to use lThe Debian flag known as Priority. Which, in turn, brings great advantages over the management of packages related to the Desktop (Rhino-core) in its different variants.
  4. In its edition for Pine64 devices (single board computers) improvements were introduced related to modem stability fixes for both PinePhone and PinePhone Pro. As well as enabling GPS support and experimental WiFi support for PineTab2 devices.
  5. Another interesting novelty is that the "Your system" application shows the version number like a pill and can be copied to the clipboard by clicking. While, in relation to the corrected errors, the solution to the issue related to Bluetooth support, thanks to the complete replacement of pulseaudio with pipewire.

One of the biggest things we can look forward to in 2024 is the debut of our new icon pack! We have worked hard to design an icon pack that is visually appealing while maintaining the essence of the original artwork. As we mentioned before about the Unicorn Beyond XFCE initiative, in 2024 we will help the development and creation of UBXI ports.
