Although this version 2.2 Beta is not the "big" update that many expected, it is still welcome, especially considering that there were no updates for more than 1 year.
Among the improvements incorporated in this version are greater integration with Pulse Audio, better video quality, support for Skype Access, support for call waiting, etc. |
With Skype 2.2 Beta we can use Skype Access to connect to the 500.000 hotspots that Skype has around the world. In addition, during a conversation we can receive a second call, keep the first on hold and answer or join the second call in a conference call. We can also create chat rooms with several interlocutors, share documents, etc.
Sound problems have been fixed thanks to better integration with PulseAudio. In terms of video quality, it seems that it has improved slightly.
There are already packages available for Ubuntu, Debian, Suse, and Fedora.

Before making a call, I couldn't use the microphone but I could hear the other person. Now I can't even make the call.
I have run out of webcam because of this version.
Too bad ... it seems that there are other users who have something similar. Look at the rest of the comments ...
Cheers! Paul.
Haha! Thank you for leaving your review Germán! 🙂
From what is seen in the rest of the comments, it seems that it brings more problems than solutions ... a shame, especially after waiting so long.
Cheers! Paul.
