Soon we will be able to enjoy Cinnamon 2D

Although it seemed to be stagnant, the development of Cinnamon continues active and interesting changes will be coming soon that we can already see in the version available in Github.

One of the novelties is Cinnamon 2D, which looks exactly like the 3D version but of course it does not have effects and must run on all those computers that until now could not run the current version of this Shell. But this won't be the only change we'll see Cinnamon It will also show us the name of the Desks and add (at last) the option to configure the panel height.

Do you want more? Well there is more. They are added in the preferences of Cinnamon the option to install / remove themes, applets and extensions. It will be used metacity as a window manager if it crashes Muffin and something that many will love: Cinnamon will have support for Tiling (fill, grid .. etc).

And here the new features do not stop, so you can see that Linux Mint keep betting heavily on Cinnamon, something that users like me are grateful for when the current alternatives no longer convince us 😀

I was testing Linux Mint with Cinnamon for a few days and I really liked it. I noticed it quickly and I was surprised by a more moderate consumption than Gnome Shell, even with the active effects, in addition to noticing more flexibility when it comes to modification. the integration of the audio player to the panel is a great success.

Hello, elav I also appreciate it since Connamon is my favorite Gnome Shell and those news are very good for me, I currently use Windows 8 but when I have my own PC, be sure that I will put Sabayón with Cinnamon
