User registration temporarily closed DesdeLinux by SPAM

spam

Greetings to all users, readers, etc. .. of this Community. In the last few days we have been receiving a lot of user registrations SPAM, mostly BOTS, which apparently learned to circumvent our Captcha system.

How do we avoid SPAM?

As we fixed this problem, we have temporarily closed the log in DesdeLinux to prevent them from filling our database with garbage.

We've also removed a bunch of suspicious-looking users, so if we somehow removed a non-BOT user, please excuse us. You can write to us our emails to correct the error and allow them to register again.

At the moment we are considering trying some user moderation plugins, although to be honest we have only found two alternatives so far: New User Approve y WP Approve User. It is possible that while they are being tested, the registry will open again because obviously, we have to test that it works. 😉

In the same way, if some of those present know of a WordPress plugin or an effective measure to avoid this headache, please, leave us a comment with your suggestion.

Greetings ..

It seems prudent for them to do so, for the welfare of all and the integrity of the page.

Well, if it is to comment here, I do not need the registration 😛

What yes, they can allow the use of social networks for that. For example: this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/oa-social-login/

And this plugin that adds the reCaptcha for records, comments, etc. Very useful.
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-recaptcha/

I use both, and I forget about SPAM. Don't forget your friend Akismet 😀

    regards

I don't know, but reCAPTCHA has problems on the Cuban internet that even @elav sent him to hell. That is why they use other methods, although the method of personal approval is better in their case.

I use these two and they suit me very well:

    Akismet
    -https: //wordpress.org/plugins/akismet/

    Anti-spam
    -https: //wordpress.org/plugins/anti-spam/

"Antispambot" is a filter that is applied to the input.

Whenever they use a pre-made antispam they will be exposed to this problem, because the bots are custom designed for the CMS and its usual antispams.
Use a personalized antispam, even if it is the gafo in the world and you will be more secure.
