Spring the new animated movie from the Blender community

Spring

Blender has a long tradition of making and releasing short films to demonstrate the capabilities of its software open source CG.

Y this time it was no exception since the guys from the Blender project presented a new animated short film "Spring". The project was created using only open source working tools for modeling, animation, rendering, compositing, motion tracking, and video editing.

This new animated short film Spring acted as a test base to refine new features and technologies to create modern visual effects developed in the Bender 2.8 branch.

Spring is the latest short film produced by Blender Animation Studio. The Spring team used Blender 2.80 development for all production, before the software was in the official Beta version.

The film and all parts of the project prepared for it, including 3D models, textures, intermediate sketches, sound effects, and music compositions, are available under the free Creative Commons Attribution license.

As for all open Blender movies, the entire production process and all its source files are shared on the Blender Cloud production platform.
