SuperTuxKart adds improvements and new features in its latest version

Maybe and many of those who usually play Super Tux Kart you already know about the improvements and news in the latest version of this excellent clone of Mario Kart, but since I was in Debian for version 0.7.3, as I had not found out.

It turns out that I have installed SuperTuxKart version 0.8.3 on Arch Linux and I find myself with a facelift since we entered the main menu.

SuperTuxKart_Main

Now we have HISTORY MODE!!! Story that begins when the wicked Nolok (who proclaims himself King of the Kart) kidnaps the leader of the runners, who is none other than the Wildebeest from GNU.

From that moment on, we select a Kart and we must advance according to the number of points that we are reaching by levels. All very cool the truth.

I feel much more fluid the graphics and textures of both the terrain and the characters. Finally Suzanne (the capture monkey) looks good, because in the Debian version it was distorted, and many of the maps have been updated.

Features have also been added, when we drift we gain extra speed. Also, the tests are now a bit more difficult.

Super Tux Kart

A real past the truth .. I already have to entertain myself in my spare time. 😀

Now I know we lost you. You are falling in love with Arch Linux little by little and practically without realizing it. 🙂

The Linux clones of Mario are very good, I did not know that this one existed, I can hardly try it, thanks for the contribution.

I am too fanatic of this game, so much so that I already spent all the races with gold: P, and I still continue playing it, for me it is the best game that is available in the repositories

Hey Elav .. I'd like you to do a few posts about Arch regarding desktop customization. How to use the different themes of icons, windows and others. I have some doubts about its use since I had gotten used to gnome a lot and I see that it does not have much, you installed it with kde and I would like to know more about the management of this desktop. Also I installed Arch with the free drivers but apparently they don't work very well. Let's say you could explain how to switch between free and proprietary on an Nvidia board. I think I have already spread it… But I hope something can be explained about what I am presenting here.

      Hello Israel ..

Well, there are still some Arch posts in the pipeline, so I'll try to please you as much as I can. 😉

Good for desktop customization. I mean how to change the Tray icons on the bar. How to combine themes for example use
translucent background of one theme and use menu background of another theme. Since I have tried to combine them but it simply does not display as it should in theory hahaha ... And without a doubt I will be looking forward to the following articles ... Greetings and thanks for the answer

Uh! I haven't played Super Tux Kart in a long time!
I love it, the game is very funny and the truth is that making a story mode seems great to me.

I hope it has network multiplayer mode, because before I had but with one machine and the keyboard it is difficult to handle between two.

In Debian there were the Launchpad ppa to keep things up to date.
(I use them and they are super stable, even my Firefox alpha)

A bit outdated news. If I remember correctly, this version was released earlier this year.
Be that as it may, it is almost always mandatory to recommend this game to those of us who enjoy our Linux distributions.

Good game. What I like the most is that every month or so there is either a car or a track.

Uhh I was also surprised when I updated archlinux and saw the improvements in STK although it is already a bit old, the new thing I read in the blog was that tracks from Open Street Map could be ported to STK and I think that in future versions a more difficulty will be added hahaha I'm really good at this game, no clue is difficult for me, although it's also the only thing I play hahaha

In my case, I did not configure SUDO for security reasons, I enter as ROOT, I write "apt-get install supertuxcart" on my partition with Debian, I exit ROOT with exit and play.

I had read around that they were testing using the Wii controls to drive the cars in Mar ... I mean, Tux Kart. Elav, do you know if this version incorporates that already?
