The first UltraBook with Linux is sold (Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, and more!)

From nothing more and nothing less Tom's Hardware this news reaches me.

ZaReason has put an UltraBook up for sale (you know, those laptops suuuuuper thin) that for a change, it would bring a Linux distro by default 😀… I show you the options:

As you can see, there is also the option to buy it WITHOUT an operating system.

Comes with a processor Core i3-3217U at 1.8ghz (for 49 $ more it is exchanged for a Core i5-3317U at 1.7ghz Turbo 2.6ghz), with 4GB of DDR3 RAM (expandable up to 16GB), 32GB storage SSD (expandable up to 256GB in SSD), and also if you want you can include HDDs, in addition to having an Intel HD 4000 for graphics. Obviously it includes Wifi and Bluetooth, WebCam, card reader, etc. etc.

You can see all the technical specifications in this link: ZaReason UltraLap 430

Another detail that I personally find great is the possibility that the super key (known as the Win key on the keyboard) have the Ubuntu logo, o un Tux.

This UltraBook has a minimum price of 899$, With one year warranty. Yes, it is not exactly the cheapest, but it is something.

      Thank you
The price is nothing to write home about, you can find similar and / or better hardware for a cheaper price ... but I thought it was interesting to share the info.

Excellent, definitely excellent, I am surprised by the progress we Linuxers and the entire GNU / Linux community are making.
Every day more Linux grows more and more!

I want that Tux key! 😀

Oh very good 😉 It's progress.

For that price, I buy a custom-made navy with triple the performance, and I even have enough to change the happy Tux xD key

the proposal is good but not worth it

I would only buy it for not having the windows logo on the keyboard.

We can always paint our meta key black and with tipex draw our tux: D.

What does not close me yet is the price, those $ 899 are in dollars I guess?
I would love to buy it for the simple reason of bringing the Tux on the SuperKey haha

Well, save my money, it is very cheap to be an ultrabook and I imagine it is because it comes with Linux and therefore the 2000/3000/4000 MXN $ is not paid for the same 🙂

    U $ S 1 = $ 4,62 (Argentines) => U $ S 899 = $ 3829,74 (Argentines)
However, these products are imported and imports are restricted for us, so I do not know when they will be able to arrive if one is ordered, and even having the silver and ordering one, it is possible that the beloved Argentine government will not allow us to convert to dollars or even buy that PC and limit ourselves to buying the Bangoh, positive BGH, kent brown and other crap that give more headaches than solutions.
    ______ We are screwed ¬¬ '

Then people complain about Apple's prices.
This laptop is a real scam.

I do not see the ultrabook, but the good thing is that they install it factory linux that is great, I hope that more computer manufacturers do it in a massive way, choose if I want windows or linux.

Honestly there are much better laptops and more powerful brands, removing the windows does not cost anything ..., for example if I already have to spend almost 900 euros, I am going to an Asus Zenbook.

  14.   Blazek said

Well, little by little the manufacturers are beginning to use their head a bit and think about the users of GNU / Linux.

I thought that having Free OS would be cheaper, there are better and much cheaper alternatives with Windows…. I really don't understand if it's good news or bad news

It's a nice "ultrabook" and I put it in quotes because it barely meets the specifications of an ultrabook. They should sell keyboards that don't even have the Windows logo with the logo of the company that made it.

The logo should be the S for Superman :-P.
