The website for the GNOME Shell Extensions is now live

It is now available to all users of GNOME Shelll the site that the GNOME Project announced a few months ago to download extensions for this desktop environment.

This initiative, when fully operational, will greatly facilitate the installation of extensions in GNOME Shell, a procedure that today is clearly anti-intuitive and cumbersome.

The current state of extensions.gnome.org It is "public alpha", and although it is in a very early stage of development, it already allows GNOME 3.2 users to install extensions to GNOME Shell directly from the web.

This site, clearly inspired by the one developed by the people at Mozilla for their Firefox browser, also has the ability to upload your own extensions.

Terrific. I am using Mint 12 and tried Mate but it is green. (no battery indicator on the panel, no other details) With these extensions you can customize gnome shell quite a bit.
    Thank you!
