[Tip] Record music from online radio stations

To record the music we listen to via streaming on our favorite Internet Radio stations, we install stream ripper:

$ sudo pacman -S streamripper # En ArchLinux
$ sudo aptitude install streamripper # En Debian

We use it in the following way:

$ streamripper http://www.vtuner.com/vtunerweb/mms/m3u41055.m3u -d ~/Grabaciones

Streamripper has many options that can be seen in the man of course, but in the previous command you see the address of the radio station and with the option -d we specify the directory to record the music,

We have to know if the stations we listen to separate the songs and inform us of the songs. For example, I usually listen to the radio with Radiotray, and each song tells me the title and author of the song, since this information is saved by streamripper.

Here I get the online radio stations, very well specified gender, country, language, or di.fm, sky.fm.

Now it would be interesting to use Screen with different aliases to record different radio stations.

I have pending to expand my knowledge of shell to write a script that asks which station to record, either from a list or a new address, and that the songs that it will record once they finish, show me a notification (notify-send) saying that has ended.

This is a small example of how it works since at the moment I was not on it

wizord @ Athenea (01:18): ~ $ streamripper http://www.vtuner.com/vtunerweb/mms/m3u41055.m3u -d ~ / Recordings Connecting ... stream: 1.FM - AMSTERDAM TRANCE RADIO server name: SHOUTcast / Linux v1.9.8 declared bitrate: 128 meta interval: 8192 [skipping ...] Space RockerZ - Puzzle Piece (Daniel Heatcliff's F [3,88M] [ripping ...] Armin van Buuren - Humming the Lights (Radio Edit ) [3,13M] ^ Cipping ...] Alex MORPH & Woody van Eyden - I See You (Wit [258kb] shutting down bye .. wizord @ Athenea (01:27): ~ $

We cancel the recording with Ctrl + C.

They can record the last station

$ !streamripper

As ! remember the last command with all options set

I hope I have explained myself well.

    Don't you think it would be better to go to dilandau.eu or download the Groovedown and download all the music you want complete and in minutes instead of recording part of a song from the radio and running the risk of hearing the comments of the announcer?
