We are coming to Relics of Annorath, an impressive native MMORPG for Linux.

Reading a little this afternoon I realized in my feed of VeryComputer that a new game is already in development and that it will run, officially and confirmed, on Linux.

Now, what is Relics of Annorath? Well, the only thing that is known is technical data since it is just in the alpha phase of development, but I have already done the task for you and I am already breaking everything down.

First of all, the game promises a lot by using the Unigine Engine, which is of real good quality and is also made using Blender, so we already see that there are portions of Free Software behind this development.

Its creators are Quantum Bytes Studio and they have made the official page of the site available to everyone, here which is practically empty, although it is understandable because of how new the project is and, I don't know about you, but I think you are putting so much effort into it to development that they don't have time to use a good CMS for their page, so they used Joomla! LOL.

Outside of jokes, there is a growing Wiki where we can find the launcher installation process explained for not one, but 5 distros: Debian, Ubuntu, ArchLinux, Fedora y Suse, the great ones of the Linux world, all will be supported. Another detail is that it has versions for 32 and 64 bits.

I also highlight the possibility of creating an alpha account, although I think it is for basic tests, or I do not know why, but if you have it, it is for something ...

But the really important thing about all this is how the game will look, and… pff, it looks beastly; just seeing how well cared for the environmental effects are and knowing that you will have the ability to do practically whatever you want in the game, wow, this makes you want to play.

They describe their project like this:

Welcome to the official Relics of Annorath portal!
Relics of Annorath is a MMORPG which plays in a medieval / post-modern ambience. It provides a complex economic system, which is also reflected on the profession system of the individual characters.

Relics of Annorath provides as much freedom to the player as possible, this covers a dynamically changing world with a complex guild, faction and political system that can change nearly everything in the player experience.

Stay tuned for more information about Relics of Annorath!

Which, if my lousy English doesn't fail me, is:

Relics of Annorath is a medieval / post-modern MMORPG. Grants a complex economic system reflected in the individual profession system of each character.

Relics of Annorath also provides a game system with the greatest possible freedom, it becomes dynamic with the change of the world and the guild system, factions and political system can change the player's experience.

Stay tuned for more information on Relics of Annorath.

Of course my translation is disgusting, but if I know something about MMORPG's and if they promise a very broad system of freedoms based on its own independent economic system (which can be as fluctuating as that of real life), a system of guilds (which are generally always gathered groups of players who do nothing but chat) and a political system (very interesting proposal that I have been testing in wakfu for a long time). In fact, the game looks quite interesting up to this point, but since there is no more information on the matter, I can't be a futurologist, but what I can do is show you the excellent work What are these guys doing graphically, to the point that they make me doubt if my Nvidia GT430 OC-edition can move such a thing at maximum resolution ...

Without more to say, or drool, the expected video:

In one word: Awesome.

hopefully the day will come when no one talks about a "game available for linux"

which will mean that ALL games will have their version for our penguin

    : )
