Although the merger with Let's use Linux (of which we are more than happy) it was only a couple of years ago, a day like today, but in 2011, the domain desdelinux.net it came to light.
I have always said that I never thought we would get to where we are today, being a reference site for thousands of Spanish-speaking users, and with such an extraordinary Community. And it is that we mainly owe the Community to be here today.
Our request for help it was listened to by a lot of people, and we managed to cover the expenses of the Domain + Hosting. Some users were concerned because they wanted to help and could not, others because they believed that there was not much they could give ... for us the mere fact of wanting to help is already a huge gesture, it does not matter if it was 0.01 cents.
We would like to publish the names of the people who helped us by sending money, but since we do not know if they will agree or not, we will do the following: We will give them a period of one week so that everyone who sent their contribution, write to me by email authorizing or not to publish their name. At the end of the week, I will update this article and put those names that have authorized me to publish. We believe that it is the right thing to do, however if you have any suggestions we are open to debate.
New design for the site
Also, as usual, I am working on a facelift for the site, but unfortunately it was not ready for today. However, I hope to publish it this week if there are no setbacks, and if all the staff of the site agree.
The idea is to take up the airs of previous designs that we have had, more traditional, more in the style of a blog, but using current trends where everything is flat because less is more: D.
I leave you some screenshots so you can see how it looks:
Well that's it! We only have to celebrate and hope to be with you for another year.. To our entire Community: Thank you very much!! A cordial hug from all members of the Staff of DesdeLinux!!
Well, 4 years, 4 years since you left linuxmintlife and founded this magnificent site, I hope this place continues much longer, giving everyone opportunities to share their experiences and opinions.
Thanks to all who have helped or contributed information or money, I could not 🙁 because I am a minor but I will continue to help with my posts.
Well before LinuxMintLife, DebianLife, AdministraLinux and XFCE Cases and Stuff, I started with elavdeveloper.wordpress.com lol. It does not matter that you have not been able to contribute monetarily, you do it with articles and that is enough for us.
Congratulations on these 4 years! I hope it continues much more, giving quality news as before!
a greeting
Thanks Albert!
Congratulations dear friends, I always read you and learn something new every day, Long live the birthday boys!
Thank you ^ _ ^ Marcos
Congratulations on the 4 years you have been online.
I discovered the blog recently, and have been following it ever since. I am a beginner in this great world of linux and free software, and the blog has been very useful to me and I have advanced a lot thanks to it.
Thank you very much for all that you have contributed and that you continue like this.
Thanks Oscar, a pleasure that you follow us ..
Congratulations cracks 🙂
Thank you very much raalso7 😉
Wow, 4 years old already !!! Easy to say, right? But I know how much they have struggled.
So congratulations to the team at Desde Linux…they deserve it!!!
That's right .. it is said very easy but easy has not been .. Thanks for stopping by ..
What would happen to the name ... # usemoslinux, it has been a long time since it published a post on this page, and its pots were very good.
Pablo (aka usemoslinux) when he is not with us is because his work does not allow it .. but don't worry, he has not gone anywhere .. 😉
I have not gone anywhere. Due to work and study reasons, I was not able to collaborate as much as always, but at the end of 2015 I will return with everything. 🙂
Congratulations on these 4 years to all the Staff and the community in general who collaborate with this great project -DesdeLinux- .
Thanks Percaff_TI99 .. 🙂
Excellent, I couldn't help with donations to keep the site going ... I'm glad to know that the community that was able to do it did ... CONGRATULATIONS… this blog is the one that I visit the most on a daily basis, along with another one that many times you refer to .. !!
Thanks Juan Carlos, and don't feel bad about not being able to help ... we understand it better than anyone. Cheers
Thank you and congratulations to all the team behind this blog, my respects because I know that it is not easy to maintain a blog like this and it is said easy 4 years but not even in dreams. The truth is, thank you very much and let the count continue, let's go for the 5th ...
Greetings from Monterrey Mexico
Thanks friend!
For my part, many congratulations to Elav, KZKG ^ Gaara, and all those people who have left their mark on this very special site. For 4 more years! Don't let the flame go out!
Iron.
Thanks Fernando .. ^ _ ^
Hello good afternoon, they have been 4 😀 in fact I have been following you for 1 year, but I had not commended anything, a question I tried to install previously and when I installed this I see this
blk_update_Request: I / 0 error dev sector 920152, Can someone help me.
Regarding your query, how long have you been involved in the linux world? He asked why if it is not so long, look for another friendly but more experienced distro, personally previously he thought that it looks good, but it has some bugs that need to mature, if it is not the case and you are already dealing with the linux world, install directly Arch.
thanks for the blog: B
I love the usability concept it delivers, it makes it very pleasing to the eye, apart from the posts that are very good.
Regards!
How did you make the photo in 3d plus the capture of the new theme?
Hehehe .. It didn't fit me perfectly, but hey, I did it with Gimp + Inkscape ..
With GIMP there is no problem, but I am complicated with Inkscape.
Happy anniversary! I hope the years continue and publishing more quality post 😉
And well, the new blog topic is looking great.
Happy birthday! Keep it up, helping the community while growing as a community.
Since the end of 2012, I have been on this blog and at the beginning of 2014, I was participating in the forum. There have been several changes, although for the moment let me organize myself to resume the unfinished saga of popular GNU / Linux applications that have (or had) versions of Windows that almost no one knows about.
Hola!
First of all I want to congratulate all those who make the existence of this great blog possible. I am a new reader, about a month. But thanks to you I have learned many things that I was completely unaware of. Three days ago I achieved my dream, which was to have Fedora on my Macbook Pro. Now I have it and I am very happy.
I value what they do, really.
I send you a big hug and may this continue to grow.
Congratulations and at least double that amount!
regards
4 years ??, but if it was yesterday when they celebrated the 3 years, and I even remember commenting… Apart from that I congratulate them for being one more year online. A new year has passed but you are still in my bookmarks, along with other friendly pages. Now we have to look towards 5 years and thus repeat indefinitely, at least as long as the Internet continues to exist as it has been up to now xDD
Greetings and thanks for staying on the air 😀
Happy anniversary guys and continue with good tutorials has been said! 🙂
Thank you and congratulations for these four years. Now for another four.
Congratulations to the entire team and I hope you continue for many more years!
Regards!
Congratulations on the years and the work, and continue if you have motivation.
I, on the contrary, am increasingly lazy.
Thanks, I've been following you recently, but I think it's an excellent blog, and a benchmark in the world of Linux. Keep it up, I'm getting on the car for now!
Congratulations Desde Linux, I really like your blog… I love Manjaro XFCE although for academic reasons I have to use Windows, big fan! , greetings
And they will continue to be many more.
Congratulations to the best GNU / LINUX community in Spanish! Keep in that way
I have the suspicion that I am one of the few active members who does not belong natively to the world of systems. Without you I would not be able to enjoy my work as I do. I am free in many ways for this blog, with GNU linux I had the necessary tools to take several key steps in my professional life. And the advisers have been you. Thanks guys, thanks really.
Congratulations Elav, and all the staff. It is not easy to stay at this for so long, but luckily in Linux the news never ends, so they will have a lot of cloth to cut yet. A big hug.
Congratulations, greetings, the page is very complete.
Thank you for dedicating so many years to the world of penguins. A place like few others. Congratulations to all who do Desdelinux possible, Happy birthday!!!
Excellent these four years following them a lot of first-rate content, I really congratulate you for there are lei who were studying how to use bitcoin for donations, it is very easy to use and from anywhere on the planet you have three ways, one to use an online wallet called https://www.coinbase.com/join/daverod24 it is free only with registration you can start receiving bitcoins they have another alternative called https://www.changetip.com/ excellent for what they need since it works with social networks and both here and on fb and tw could receive from $ 1 and more and a very secure desktop wallet is https://electrum.org/.
Warning: bitcoin is a very volatile currency but that does not mean that it is bad at the moment it is being used a lot and the possibilities of doing interesting things with them is the best
By chance while I entered the world of GNU / Linux, you founded this great blog and since then I follow them when I was looking for tutorials to install things in Fedora (distribution with which I practically started). They have been very helpful during these four years, thank you very much. Happy birthday and greetings from Colombia 😀
Congratulations <th friends !!
And I say friends because I really consider them my friends even though we never met or spoke personally. In addition to their technical knowledge about Linux and other herbs, I highlight the human warmth with which they have carried out this project. Because there are many web pages, blogs and media specialized in linux and technology, but that make you feel that those strangers who write the articles are your friends, that is very difficult to find.
Thank you very much for everything you give.
The new design of the blog is looking very good, I really like it. Keep it up guys
Thank you
The impeccable theme -a habit of you when it comes to improving-, however there is a little problem with the logo; It does not appear in full, it is cut (FromLi).
regards
Yes, the problem was that we are using a .SVG and if you don't have the fonts that we use installed on the system, it doesn't look right. We already corrected that. Thanks a lot.
the theme looks good. thanks
The new theme is very nice, it still has details such as the comments misaligned with the rest of the objects, the social media buttons very close together, but the work shows! The information area of the article is simple but beautiful, they gave me quite a few ideas for my page. By the way, they could change (if they can of course, I don't get along very well with WP) the links from the control panel to flat buttons.
I hope the page continues for a few more years, and they expand in territory at once, a DesdeArduino wouldn't hurt xD, although I think that with a page called DesdeLinux, they cannot grow outside of the Linux environment. And do something as happened with several pages, eg HiperTextual.
On the other hand, the quality of articles that are here, could be merged to make some kind of platform for paid courses.
Sure are all suggestions, but still not depend so much on donations.
Could you send me a screenshot to the email? You can find my data in the section About us.
congratulations;!!
