Workrave: take care of your health when using the computer

Reading a post from glatelier, I found out about the existence of workrave, a program that, in the words of its author, was conceived to aid in the recovery and prevention of Repetitive Strain Injury (Repetitive Strain Damage) which is nothing other than pain, generally in the hands and arms, caused by misuse chronic of these parts of the body. Over time, the pain can become more acute, persist even after several hours, and cause general fatigue and weakness.

To prevent these symptoms, Workrave will remind us from time to time to take a few minutes to rest and exercise. In particular, Workrave defines micro-breaks, breaks and a daily limit. Micro-pauses will help us distract ourselves from whatever we are doing from time to time and they usually last about 30 seconds. Breaks last several minutes and include a short set of exercises at the beginning to improve our posture and keep our joints in shape. Finally, the Daily Limit alerts us that enough has been enough for this day, and that we should stop working.

By default, these alerts lock screen to dissuade us from continuing to work. If we are doing something important, we can postpone micro-pauses and breaks for a couple of minutesThe simplementeskip them (something that obviously No. I recommend ¬¬). We can configure both the frequency and the time that the alerts will last, and even temporarily suspend the timer (if for example we are going to leave the computer for a while). You can easily install Workrave by searching for it in your favorite package manager (available on most distributions) or downloading its source code on their official site.     I'm going to use it very good, I use my pc for more than 8 hours in a row and I get up just to drink water or eat but at unattended hours, very well, thank you for this post.
