Do you want to read and answer SMS messages direct from Ubuntu? That is precisely what blubphone it was designed to do. |
The app has to be connected to your phone before you can do anything. For this it is necessary to download and run the Android version from the application from the Google Play store.
Once your phone is connected to Ubuntu (which is only possible via WiFi), using Blubphone is pretty straightforward.
Blubphone does not list the messages read before the application was run, but it does list the unread ones. You can also access your contact book to start a new SMS conversation.
Installation
En Ubuntu and derivatives:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa: markus-lanner / blubphone
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install blubphone
I used to send messages from ubuntu with Nokuntu on my nokia, connecting via usb cable.
but it's good that there are more applications that can do that and in this case with android and using wifi.
Greetings.
Excellent option, especially for tactile smartphones, which lack a keyboard with which to type comfortably. Doing it from the computer is undoubtedly a good option, less complicated, easy and fast.
It is a pity that it can only be connected through and not via USB, which would undoubtedly get more out of it. Maybe in future updates it will be possible.
Please make a post about this application, it is unique in Linux ...

In my case, it did show the unread messages that I already had. It is good but it needs to be more practical, I hope you continue it and make its use faster and more fluid for the user.
