Wunderlist: Task management for everyone

Months ago, the world saw the birth of a task management application like never seen before, and now, after a long wait and millions of users around the world, it has finally been released for Linux.

The main attraction of Sleep as an Droid is its simple and attractive interface, in which our earrings take the main role.

Adding tasks

It is enough to write in the corresponding box to add a new task, and optionally, it is possible to activate the intelligent recognition of dates, but how is this? Let's say that if we write: "buy milk tomorrow", the program will recognize the syntax of our writing and add the task, setting it tomorrow as the deadline.

Synchronization

Something essential today for any task management application that is respected, is that it offers some type of synchronization with the cloud, to have a backup of our data and of course, that it is available where we need it.

The synchronization of our tasks is done automatically, so if we have an Internet connection, we should not worry about its availability everywhere.

And if being multi-platform was not enough, we can access from any browser to wunderlist.com to check our assignments wherever we are.

Sharing tasks

E-mail and cloud app are the official options for the exchange of tasks, in addition to the support of printing the lists; It also supports collaboration using shared lists, although a (free) Wunderlist account is required for this feature.

Not everything is perfect

  • The download in its version for Linux weighs between 80 and 85 Mb, which is quite a lot for such a simple application.
  • It uses web technologies instead of native code, which although it helps the portability of the application, is not ideal.
  • It does not have repetition of tasks, despite being probably the most requested functionality since its launch, it has not yet been implemented.

Installation

We download the tarball, unzip and run the "Wunderlist" file, it's that easy.
