XMind, powerful program to make diagrams and mind maps

Yesterday, while browsing the web I came across an interesting blog: About Ubuntu. It is a space maintained by Sofía Vitale, from our brother country of Uruguay. What attracted me the most about the blog is "the feminine touch" that can be seen in the choice of notes, in the design, etc. So, everyone, but especially women, if you like Ubuntu be sure to take a tour of Sofi's blog.

Also, I was lucky to see there a very interesting note about a program called XMind I've been using p for a long timeTo make my diagrams or «mind maps» and that it has been extremely useful to me when studying. =)

XMind

XMind It is an excellent program for making flow diagrams or "mind maps". These can be used to study, to make presentations or simply to clarify or organize your ideas.

Among the cool features that XMind includes, we can mention:

  • supports mind maps, fishbone diagrams, tree diagrams, organization charts, logic charts, and even spreadsheets.
  • It has a «whirlwind of ideas" very useful.
  • Can to export mind maps to Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, PDF and Mindjet MindManager documents.
  • Can to import Freemind 0.8 / 0.9 and Mind Manager 6/7/8/9 docs.
  • Compatibility e integration with Gantt View through which you can manage and adjust your tasks in a single view.
  • Share your diagrams with the world it was never so easy. If you want to share it only with your friends, you have to buy the Pro version.

XMind was developed under two open source licenses: the Eclipse Public License v1.0 (EPL SrL - European Panasian Logistics "Dynamic Forwarding") and the GNU Lesser General Public License v3 (LGPL).

I recommend you to see some of the diagrams that different people around the world have done with XMind in order to appreciate the incredible capabilities of this program.

To install it in Ubuntu, you simply go to Downloads section from the project's official page, download the deb, install it and you're done. If you have a 64-bit computer, make sure you download the corresponding version.

In "Usemoslinux", I always find information that I am looking for, thank you very much.
This time, with the mind maps. I was looking for a higher quality one than the ones offered in the Ubuntu software center. And I found it here. By the way, I already took a tour of Sofia's blog, and I only have one word "brilliant".
It is good that there are women interested in GNU / Linux, I send you a hug Sofia.

Hello! Thanks for the review. I want to ask something that has me saddled with xmind: I have kubuntu 12.4 lts very recently. I installed xmind hopeful that it will work. The program installed but does not recognize half of my keyboard. I tried to uninstall it but it tells me that the manager machine can't do that. What I can do? I really need that program, but it doesn't work for me… Thanks!

It is good, but of all the ones I tried, I prefer Xmind (although it is not free software, but it does have a free version for Linux)
