Clapper: A GNOME media player with a responsive GUI
In our different and varied GNU / Linux Operating Systems, there is usually a lot of variety of applications in the same field. And the scope of media players is no exception. And for that, today we will explore one more called "Clapper".

Clapper: GNOME media player built with GJS
What is Clapper?
According to his official website on GitHub, "Clapper" is
"A GNOME media player built using GJS with the GTK4 toolkit. The media player uses GStreamer as a media backend and renders everything through OpenGL."
Features
Among its most notable features, it is worth mentioning the following:
- Hardware acceleration: It uses the hardware acceleration by default, and when it is available the use of the CPU and RAM should be much lower.
- Floating mode: This is a borderless window, without a header and with a reduced number of player controls. When floating mode is activated, many more tasks can be done on it.
- Adaptive GUI: Which makes it possible that when the videos are viewed in "Window Mode", the majority of GTK widgets are used not modified to adapt to the appearance of the Operating System. Whereas, when "Full Screen Mode" is activated all elements of the GUI become darker, larger and semi-transparent for better viewing comfort.
- Playlist via files: Limited functionality only for the Flatpak version, and to the content of the user's "Videos" directory by default. It allows you to open playlist files (standard text file with a .claps file extension). These must contain only one file path per line.
- Other important: Progress bar display in chapters and Support for MPRIS (Media Player Remote Interfacing Specification).

For our use case, we will not perform the direct download method available from the GitHub repository or via OpenSUSE repositoriesbut directly your download and install via Flatpak using flat hub.
Installation and use
For this step, we only have to execute the following command order and voila, we will have "Clapper" installed and ready to use via Applications menu or by terminal (console).
Installation via terminal
