De Minecraft we have already talked enough in DesdeLinux, and explain how it works or what it is about is not necessary because for this we have this review.
Like all popular games, clones have been born to it, for example block story which is available for various platforms, but not for GNU / Linux. Anyway if you want, you can Download Block Story.
For GNU / Linux we have our own Minecraft, written in Java, but I don't like that particular language and luckily for us, there is a native variant called MineTest.
Maybe the level of MineTest does not reach the of Minecraft, but come on, it's perfectly playable and has a ton of options. It is multiplatform, it has free servers to play in Multiplayer and you can install MODs and new Textures.
I installed it directly from the repositories of ArchLinux with:
$ sudo pacman -S minetest
But for other distributions or installation methods we can go to its official website.
And why lie, I still can't get around this type of game but I'll give it a chance 😉
I installed it on my ubuntu from the store. It has its good, anyway, having Minecraft available, I use it.
Thanks for the alternative 🙂
Ubuntu's is outdated and not as good as the last version.
you add some mods and it is almost identical but faster
Well, I installed it on my Manjaro and it works correctly only ... I don't know how to play XD very well but I'll be moving it haha. By the way, and just out of curiosity, is it written in C ++?
Yes, it is written in C ++
That is good news for me.
Ignore this clone, apparently very complete, for this weekend preparing the shovel and the pick.
Uhh, I already knew xD, Minetest is missing a lot .. I dare say it has better Minecraft performance ..
PS: Minecraft is available for: Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, Raspberry PI, Android, iOS, PlayStation 3 and xbox 360 (Xbox one, PS4 and PSVita soon)
What is the difference between being available for Linux and being available for Raspberry PI?
The Raspberry Pi is like a port of the first versions for Iphone
I think you have a cable crossover bro xD because more performance does not mean that it is more platforms.
In fact, of course Minecraft is more complete when we talk about the game per-se because well, damn it, many people work on it.
But if it is about performance that we are talking about, then Minecraft has a number of damn errors that screw me a lot, like it gets very slow suddenly, it usually hangs after many hours of play (like 3 hours) and other things that derive from using Java and that at least I have not seen in minetest: 3
I don't know, but it makes me want to try Minecraft with OpenJDK (in fact OpenJDK has freed me from going through the odyssey of installing proprietary Java).
It's worse with OpenJDK, I'm telling you from experience. If he's going to run, don't worry about that and he might not fuck around for a while, but then it gets horrible
That is your point of view, since in my point of view Minecraft suits me perfectly and with Minetest I can't even move ...
Remember that it is an indie game, so even open source projects have more developers. We are talking about Mojang, not EA!
I'm sorry that you have those errors, I spent a long time addicting Minecraft 10 hours in a row and without closing the game or slowing down, for me Minecraft is perfect with OpenJDK or Oracle Java
I was testing it yesterday and it looks pretty good to be a "knockoff."
Hello total novateitor to the device, does anyone know how you can fly in the MineTest?
You press the T key to open the Minetest chat and type:
/ grant singleplayer fly
(Activate with k, fly with the space bar, land with left shift)
Other tricks are running and running through solid objects.
Fly:
/ grant singleplayer fast
(It is activated / deactivated with J, it also helps to fly faster)
Intangible (go through objects):
/ grant singleplayer noclip
(It is activated / deactivated with H, it only works when you fly)
In debian they find it in the main section repositories, I tested it and it works very well on my celeron 847.
Hello Elav, and in what language is Minetest written?
cute!
Minetest is great and the truth is that I have spent quite a few hours playing it, you just get tired after a while.
What happens is that the game itself is slow in development, to begin with. They work under wtfPL licenses and they are very clear when they say "we develop this at the rate we want because it is a game, because we enjoy doing it, and because it is not serious" so things take time to come.
Another little problem is the extensions. Yes, there are many, yes they are interesting but nope, almost none of them work almost never except for a few Reasons? They are not updated with the new versions or they have bugs that the developer is lazy to repair, among other things.
how strange they work perfectly for me
I do, and I can never solve the problems T_T
Well, since Minetest is more relaxed than Minecraft, I install it.
I will never understand, what people see in this game XD
it's like playing with a lego xD. if you ever liked the lego you will understand 🙂
I have the same opinion.
Questions)! Is it free software? What license do you use?
If it turns out that it is free, I make the change but flying xD You have to support free software 🙂
THE DOWNLOAD IS FREE
Hahaha
I WANT TO PLAY IT NOW
i love minecraft
