In these days I have talked about several Steam games, but in order not to lose the habit, I looked in the repository for a game that I have not already talked about and ... it came up Rocks'nDiamonds
rocks and diamonds
This is a game that I'll be honest, it didn't amuse me enough. It seems to me a kind of mix between Bomberman (from the consoles of yesteryear) and those games that you had to move the character (or geometric figure) with the right steps to reach the desired result (Sokoban).
This is not an addictive game (at least I think so) as Dont Starve can be, those of us who install some like Subway Surfers on our Android or others who prefer download Geometry Dash (using Google Play, Aptoide or other) and install it on your computer.
rocks and diamonds
To install it, find (and install) the package called rocksndiamonds from its official repository.
In ArchLinux, Chakra or similar it would be:
sudo pacman -S rocksndiamonds
In Debian, Ubuntu or derivatives it would be:
sudo apt-get install rocksndiamonds
Once installed, you just have to run it ... you can run it in a terminal or look for it in the applications menu.
The purpose of the game is simple, we must take all the gems or objects so that the exit door of the level opens, however we must take the indicated path, a wrong step taken and something could prevent us from reaching a gem ... well, the rocks are there to make our homework difficult, hence the name of the game.
As you can see in the screenshot above, the game is not that old by any means ... 2013, which makes me wonder, WTF, that graphic and 2013? ...
Well nothing, enjoy it. I have to check all games that we have put to make a selective 😉
It is a new version of the classic Rockford from Atari, which in turn is a sequel to Dash, both were great games in their time.
I played them on my 086 with a green phosphor screen. Hehehe.
I don't know how it will be, but looking at the images it reminds me (and it seems to me) a pseudo Supaplex clone, the one that by the way has its code released. I clarify that it does not seem wrong to me to reuse mechanics as long as it has its own identity and I think this is the case.
It also reminds me of one that I played a while ago (can't remember if it was on a distro or a flash game or html or something else), but of three androids, each with their own ability (lead the way, push or collect).
I like its aesthetics. Will have to check it out.
A great contribution, this type of games I liked a lot in the past.
reminds me of the old DOS games
This game is not new. I played for many years his version Commodore 64 and 128 under his name Boulderdash. An excellent game! Thanks for bringing the memory. Cheers!
Very good. The graphics are fair for the game.
how does the game run ????
ooohhh… this was what I used to play God for years… I didn't remember the name XD but straight ahead…
