It is now available to download and use the version WordPress 3.6 (Oscar), the CMS we use to bring the blog to life. So in a few minutes, after this article is published, we will update.
In this version come many good and new changes.
To quote some of the changes, I'll use the same text that we can see, once we update at http: //tu_url/wp-admin/about.php.
New colorful theme
Introducing Twenty Thirteen
The new default theme focuses on your content, based on a colorful single column layout and made for blogging with lots of multimedia.
Inspired by modern art, Twenty Thirteen features contain quirky details. beautiful typography, bold, high-contrast colors - all in a flexible design that looks great on any device, large or small.
At least I love:
Write with confidence
Explore reviews
WordPress saves every change from the first word you type. Each revision is always at your fingertips. Text is highlighted when you scroll through reviews at high speed, so you can see what changes have been made along the way.
It's easy to compare two revisions from any point in time to restore a revision and rewrite. Now you can be sure that no errors are permanent.
Improved autosave
Never lose anything you have written. Autosave is now even better. If the power goes out, your browser crashes or the Internet connection is lost, the content will be safe.
Input blocking improvements
You can find out who is editing by looking at the live updates of the post list. And if someone has taken a break and left an entry open, you can pick up where they left off without issue.
New media player
Share your audio and video with the included HTML5 media player. Upload the files using the media manager and embed them directly in your posts.
Embed music from Spotify, Rdio and SoundCloud
Embed songs and albums of your favorite artists or playlists that you have made. It's as simple as pasting the URL into an entry on an empty line. eye! Let there be nothing else on the line.
Underhood
Audio and Video API
New video and audio APIs give developers access to powerful media metadata, such as ID3 tags.
Semantic markup language
Topics can now choose enhanced HTML5 language for contact forms, search forms, and comment lists.
JavaScript utilities
New JavaScript utilities facilitate common tasks like Ajax requests, editing and managing trunk views.
Shortcodes improvements
Search content for shortcodes with has_shortcode()
and shortcode attribute tuning with a new filter.
Revision control
Precise review controls that allow you to maintain multiple reviews for each post type.
External libraries
New and updated libraries: MediaElement.js, jQuery 1.10.2, jQuery UI 1.10.3, jQuery Migrate, Backbone 1.0.
Well we won't actually be able to update until KZKG ^ Gaara gives the correct permissions to the Blog folder. So we will have to wait a little while 😀
In a few minutes I'll take care of this 😉
Always the same! 🙂
buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
the videos that codec use? (I hope free 🙂 vp8 or vp9 and sound opus)
Ready! We are already in WordPress 3.6
If it is not too much to ask, maybe you can help us and do a tutorial on how to go from one version to another, in a production environment without creating a digital armageddon.
Ready! Posted article about the topic.
As I said in my comment, there in the matter in question, I appreciate the kindness and readiness that you put to respond and publish a response to my request. Simply excellent! 🙂
The easiest way to keep WordPress up to date is to update from Desktop> Updates and yes, make a previous backup since sometimes some plugins or themes are loaded if they are not compatible with the new version. There are plugins that allow you to make backups with 1 click to platforms such as dropbox, among others, although if you are in a hosting service with a control panel, you probably have tools that allow you to make and / or program backups, even auto-installers such as software that you allow backup and update automatically. There are also now hosting services in the cloud that provide you with facilities in terms of backups and restorations.
And are you going to put that theme? But if two days ago you switched to this one, it's perfect! I do not know, we will have to try the functionalities of the next asset but that it looks so much like Ubuntu ... the top part with the little circles does not call me, I like the base colors better and the footer uses the Ubuntu color tablet .. Can't implement this one that you have now or does it cost a lot?
No no, of course we will not put that topic, I just said that I like how it looks 😀
The truth is that it is horrible, like all WordPress default themes. These themes are only for use as a framework, not for use as is.
