After a week of delay, Canonical has finally released the second maintenance update for its latest LTS version, Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS Bionic Beaver.

Initially planned to arrive on February 7, Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS was delayed until February 14 due to a bug in Linux Kernel 4.18 that caused startup problems with certain graphics cards.

The problem was found very quickly in the Linux Kernel 4.18 package available in both Ubuntu 18.10 and Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, so now Canonical released Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS with updated Ubuntu 18.10 graphics and kernel drivers, as well as other security updates and software.

This is what's new in Ubuntu 18.04 LTS

In addition to arriving with the updated Ubuntu 18.10 Kernel and graphics drivers, Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS includes the latest security patches and other updates and bug fixes which have been released in the official repositories since Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS.

Additionally, the release comes with Raspberry Pi 3 support on Ubuntu Server edition accompanying the Raspberry Pi 2 image. As expected, all different versions contain the same updates and various improvements and bug fixes.

Ubuntu LTS 18.04 will have support for 10 years depending on the platform on which it is used and will receive three maintenance updates. The next update, Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS, will be available later this year based on the Ubuntu 19.04 Disco Dingo kernel and graphics drivers.

Meanwhile you can download Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS in its different versions Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Lubuntu, Ubuntu MATE, Ubuntu Budgie, Ubuntu Kylin from the Official Site. If you have Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS you can update without reinstalling.
